[To be fair, he only realized those two the hard way, but at least he kind of learned...]
I suppose I hadn't really thought about it like that.
[So tone and volume, got it. Patience isn't a problem, of course.
He'll move after a moment, coming closer to Alexei and then kneeling nearby. He's not too close to either Alexei or the fursnakes, and he's staying away from their food as well. And also the pointy end of your sword there. You know, just in case.]
Is this something that helps as well or is this just part of being patient?
It's a bit of both, I think. It was also good of you to cut it here instead of doing it beforehand; I've found it gets their attention. Maybe it's the scent of it, I wouldn't really know.
If they come into this area you should try putting more fruit on the ground a decent distance away. Cut up more whenever what you currently have seems dry. Make sure it sees you set it down.
[He'll take that advice to heart, though. He just really wants to befriend one of these really dumb things, okay...
Anyway, he'll remain quiet and patiently sitting, just watching Alexei and occasionally looking over at the fursnakes to see their reactions. It looks like some of them are getting more comfortable, at least; we don't have to worry about them screaming right now.]
How long did it take you to get Garista to come with you?
They're easily scared when they're not angry. It isn't as though we can simply grab one and leave with it.
Garista seems to be doing well enough now that he's decided to stay, but he didn't always know what to think of me when I first brought him back, either. It may take some time.
He was hiding. I have something set up beneath the bed so he can hide there if he wants; I didn't mind as long as he was out of the way and not being a pest about it.
He never seemed to dislike me enough to make noise at me. Outside of the usual, anyway.
The snakes are doing fine! They're shifting a bit like they're considering coming closer, but most of them stay where they are.
And then this majestic beast pokes her(?) head out from the bushes and slithers her way over to the fruit nearest to her. She(?) daintily takes a bite out of it, all while keeping an eye on both of us.
There really isn't a reaction to this that isn't "oh my god"]
[The other fursnakes are making noises and shuffling about awkwardly, like they aren't really sure what to make of this still while she goes for piece #2, either completely unafraid or just really liking the fruit. She's still not taking her eyes off of us, but she's not making warning noises either so this is probably a good thing, maybe??]
[He's not going to make a move to touch or anything, but he looks very excited.
She's paying less attention to him and more to Alexei, waiting for more food. She isn't all that patient though, because she'll start making noises after a moment, though it doesn't sound like she's going to start shrieking.]
[this is going exactly where you think it's going, yeah.
Anyway, he'll place the food in front of him and while she deadeyes him for a moment like "really", she'll come on over and eat the food. Look at this, it's going surprisingly well; he kind of figured this would end in unconsciousness.]
[This actually is going surprisingly well on a lot of fronts; for the time being he's content to settle back and watch, seeing as this isn't looking like it's on a direct course to become a mess and it's for the best that Yeager handle the snake for now, seeing as it's one he wants for himself.
It's been a while since he's done anything low-key and normal like this; there have been a few moments here and there since he was brought here, but generally there's always something else keeping it from being genuinely decent. This is...fine, however, it's weird but it's acceptable.]
[Yeah, the less we think about it, the better, honestly. Yeager's not really here to think about how surprisingly normal this is.
You know, besides the fursnake.
Speaking of her, she's accepted the fruit Yeager's given her, and once he's out of fruit they both just sort of stare at each other like "now what". Thankfully, she doesn't seem hungry anymore, so she's not making noises for more food, but she's not moving either.
After a moment, Yeager speaks up, though he keeps his voice lower than the usual volume.]
Well, aren't you incredibly cute? You certainly have moxie, coming up to us directly like that!
[The fursnake chirps in response, though she's obviously just making noise because she doesn't understand a goddamn word of that and isn't sure what to respond with.

[The... cutting the fruit thing.]

[To be honest it was only because he forgot to cut it beforehand... But that works.]
It looks like you've got their attention, at least. How long does it take for them to come over?
no subject
[He shrugs a little.]

[...It's something he hadn't stated at the time because let's be real you would have teased him like hell for it.]
no subject
Well, I can see why you said patience is required!
[It takes a lot of effort to refrain from teasing you......]

They're easily scared when they're not angry. It isn't as though we can simply grab one and leave with it.

Ah, I see. Did he hide a lot or was he doing that... growling thing?
[Was that growling??]
no subject
He never seemed to dislike me enough to make noise at me. Outside of the usual, anyway.

[Here's hoping he'll be as lucky??]

[garista...tries, um
how are the snakes doing over there, incidentally, are they still reasonably chill]
no subject
[He kind of loves it, honestly.

Look at the coloring on that one!
[IT'S SO IMPRACTICAL, IT'S WONDERFUL]

[alexei-
That said, though, that thing is weirdly precious?? Even if the coloration is kind of. wow.]

[...Or maybe it just likes free food, who knows.]
no subject
[no seriously, can he please have this one, he loves it....
Anyway, the pink fursnake will keep approaching for food, she'll(?) even get right up near us once she's(?) eaten everything that's been laid out.]
no subject
She doesn't seem to mind you, at any rate.
[so cute...]
I take it we're not leaving without this one.
no subject

I mean, he'll comply because he doesn't feel like being screamed into unconsciousness today, have some damn fruit.]
Well, she certainly does seem to know what she wants...
no subject
[Oh my god he just thought of the perfect name. Yes, he needs this one.
She'll eat the food and then look up at you again like, all right cool, but you've still got more.]
Here, let me try.
[Just give him the pieces, since you've already got your sword out.]
no subject
anyway
just...take the fruit, he is fine with this]
